|LOCATION||Park Farm, Knowsley Safari Park, Merseyside|
|TIME||09:00 to 12:00|
Our ‘Getting Started with Digital SLR cameras’ sessions are simple, 3 hour events designed to cover a basic overview of key D-SLR operation. Using simple language and practical examples we will encourage guests to start taking control of certain camera features to deliver more predictable, better quality results. We will also have time to actually put these concepts into practice with your individual camera. We believe learning with ‘bite size’ chunks in this way, really helps those new to photography get started more comfortably.
Each session will begin with a welcome tea/coffee at our training center situated in the heart of Knowsley Safari Park and we will take a little time to identify everyone’s individual needs. We will then begin with a 1.5 hour, simple presentation covering some basic camera operations. The trainer will not only cover ‘how’ things work but also ‘why’ we might want to use each feature, illustrating this with practical examples and images.
After the presentation we can head out into the Safari Park for an hour long practical session to immediately put these new ideas into practice. This is usually a perfect opportunity for us to make sure everyone can prove the theory is working for them.
The emphasis on all of our ‘Getting Started’ events is individual learning and we only have 3 guests per session as a maximum. At the end of event each guest will have a chance to ask any outstanding questions and we will provide an email PDF summary of the topics we have covered.
Our ‘Getting Started with Digital SLR camera’ Session will cover:
Exposure modes & coming off ‘full auto’.
Using exposure compensation.
Working with the cameras Auto Focus features.
Understanding basic file types (JPEG and RAW).
Controlling the color in pictures with White Balance and Picture Styles.
The goal of this session is to understand how to move from full auto operation and effect exposure, focus and the look of the images in a predictable, controlled way.
