At Wild Arena we completely understand that productive learning can be a highly individual thing. Our ‘Mastering your Photography, 1-to-1’ Sessions are a perfect opportunity to give yourself time to really overcome technical and creative issues that are potentially holding back your image making.

Our 1-to-1 training sessions begin with a welcome tea/coffee where your tutor will talk through your individual photography and agree an action plan for the topics that you would most like to cover. We can use the framework of our existing ‘Mastering your Camera’ modules or devise bespoke topics that directly address your concerns.

Our aim is to spend around half of our time actually talking through the topics we have chosen and then spend the remaining time actually out taking pictures, directly putting new ideas into practice.

The training center is equipped with lots of facilities like demonstration cameras, example lenses from 8mm – 600mm, flash, Mac computers, 50” screen, a huge range of accessories and even a fully set up studio. We have a comfortable conference room and lounge area where we can sit down and talk through the areas you wish to cover and there will be ample chance to take notes and ask any questions to make sure you understand everything. We are also fortunate enough to work closely with industry partners like Canon, Manfrotto, Lastolite, Lee Filters and Elinchrom and their support can add depth to your learning experience. However, this does not make our training brand specific and we are happy to work with cameras from all the leading manufacturers.

We will break up the day with the important element of practical application of new ideas and our location in the very heart of Knowsley Safari Park makes this the perfect location for getting out and capturing images. The more predictable nature of the parks animals means the tutor can escort you around to find subjects that will enable you to productively try out the fresh ideas we have discussed. This practical element might include taking the Land Rover out around the park reserves, visiting the walk around exhibit or even taking a walk into the estate woodland that borders the Park Farm training center.

The goal of our  ‘Mastering your Photography, 1-to-1’ sessions is to cover the areas you individually feel are holding back your photography and then have the chance to embed the learning with practical opportunities around the safari park.
