At Wild Arena we appreciate that there is always a need for a more structured approach to learning to compliment our purely practical workshop events. We offer a range of different on-line events, all of which are focused on very small groups and individually tailored instruction. By offering online interactive tuition (via Zoom), this can be done at a time that suits you and is backed up by an online experienced tutor from our workshops. Some training courses can also be combined with a workshop to put your technical learning straight into practice.

My New Best Friend is a Flashgun Tutorial - With David Southard

Most photographers will, at some stage, realise that ‘light’ is a fundamental, core component of successful photography. The Atlantic Puffin, A Photographic Journey - Talk With Kevin Morgans

Living in the UK, the coast means everything to me, it's where I live, work & seek solitude. As a small child, I grew up on a small peninsula surrounded by beautiful beaches and dramatic coastline. At this time, I had very little interest in photography. I spent my days exploring rock pools and the endless local coastline. Whilst sitting looking out to sea I would often see a flash of white, a blaze of

Mad as a Mountain Hare - Talk With Kevin Morgans

Mountain hares are a very special species in the UK, they are Britain's only true arctic/alpine mammal and our only native species of hare (both brown hares and rabbits were introduced). The difficulty of photographing mountain hares is in the title 'mountain'. You have to earn every image, there is no sitting in a hide all day waiting. You are exposed to whatever weather a day in the Scottish mountains will throw at you. Endurance,

My Stacking in Macro Photography - Talk With Oliver Wright

Oliver has been doing close-up photography for many years and does a lot of high magnification macro photography out in the field. To master this, he has spent a lot of time working on his own specific techniques, including ‘hand-held stacking’. This technique, whilst far from easy, enables him to overcome the perennial issue of limited ‘depth of field’ in extreme close up images and is possible to employ in real life, field situations. Stacking is

On Line 'One to One' Portfolio Review

It can sometimes be difficult to get a truly objective opinion on a photographic project or recent work, without the other persons personal views or preferences overshadowing good advice.  We believe at Wild Arena, we are able to give just such an objective critique.
