Macro photography is a key specialty at Wild Arena. After many years of experience we have built a fully equipped be-spoke studio, which boasts many different kinds of lighting and creative sets to capture stunning shots of our great range of subjects. This unique specialist facility is located at the Wild Arena office at Park Farm, in the heart of Knowsley Safari Park, Merseyside.

The beauty of our one to one macro events is you can structure your session to your personal preference. We have a number of options including all the usual species, a reflection pool set-up, ‘dark field illumination tank’, and high-speed flash all of which can be requested as subjects for you to see.

Our macro one to one sessions give you the chance to use equipment, sets and specific animals that would not be possible in larger groups. You will have the chance to work with species that are harder to handle and photograph. These include Red Eyed Tree Frogs, White Faced Owl and our Chilean Rose Tarantula. Using the best sets, lighting and techniques we hope to create unique and powerful macro images.

The Macro 1-to-1 sessions also mean we can focus on more specialist equipment such as the Canon MPE-65 5x macro lens and 1/16000 second high speed flash units. We can also use the session as a training exercise and discuss any topics which you believe are hindering your macro images, all in the comfort our be-spoke studio.

The subjects for the studio are drawn from our own, ‘little guys’ team. Species that may be included in a Macro 1-to-1 include:

Harvest Mice

Gargoyle Gecko

Leopard Gecko

New Caledonian Crested Gecko

Borneo Eared Frog

Golden Tree Frog

Tour Reviews

September 21, 2017

Dear Janet & David,

I attended one of your one to one workshops back at the end of July.

I have been meaning to email you for a while to thank you for such a great day. I really enjoyed it and I’m really pleased with the images I captured. Ill certainly be coming back.
I have attached my favourite ones from the day.

If you ever run a one to one workshop using a Fuji GFX or Sony series of cameras, I’d certainly be interested, particularly the GFX.

Thanks again,

Kindest regards,
