What You Can Expect During Your Stay

You’ll stay at Forsinard Lodge, comfortable rooms, home-cooked meals and the quiet beauty of the Highlands all around you.

Each guest enjoys a modernised double room with en-suite bathroom, desk and drinks facilities. Our conservatory lounge provides a relaxed space to unwind, review images and share ideas as a group.

Built in 1870 by the Duke of Sutherland, the lodge sits on the edge of a UNESCO World Heritage Site, surrounded by protected nature reserve, an inspiring base for your week.

This week is designed to give you clarity and confidence. We’ll guide you through the essential building blocks of photography—both technical and creative—so you can move away from guesswork and start making deliberate, informed choices.

While the programme is structured and immersive, there is always time to practise, ask questions and develop your own approach with individual support throughout.

Creative

Each afternoon is dedicated to putting ideas into practice. You’ll head out with your camera and begin to apply what you’ve learned—thinking more carefully about what you photograph and how you communicate it.

It’s this combination of knowledge and creativity that leads to real progress.

Learning

This week is all about understanding. We’ll cover not only how to use your camera, but why different choices create different results. This deeper understanding is what allows you to take control of your photography and move forward with confidence.

Discover

As your understanding grows, so does your ability to see. You’ll discover new ways of approaching familiar subjects, new confidence in your decision-making, and new possibilities in your photography, alongside beautiful locations and a shared experience with fellow photographers.
