Combining the remote Highlands with the magical islands of Orkney, this trip offers a huge variety of subjects, from dramatic coastlines and historic villages to hidden coves and rugged northern landscapes.

 

With a small, supportive group and expert guidance from our team, including the legendary Orcadian guide Kinlay Francis, this adventure is designed to inspire your photography and encourage you to try new techniques in some of Scotland’s most captivating locations.

Day 3: Full-day excursion to Hoy, evening in Kirkwall


Day 4: Western islands, late afternoon ferry to mainland, overnight Forsinard Lodge


Day 5: Scottish far north, cliffs, beaches and coves


Day 6: Western Highlands, final evening at Forsinard Lodge

What You Can Expect During Your Stay

This trip combines two accommodation locations: the historic Forsinard Lodge on the Scottish mainland and a high-quality hotel in Kirkwall, Orkney. All rooms are private and en-suite, with full board provided.

The trip is designed to support your photography development, with small groups allowing personalised guidance and creative support. Kinlay Francis brings a unique local perspective to the Orkney days, sharing hidden spots and historical context that few visitors experience.

The variety of locations, from wild northern cliffs to Orkney’s dramatic coastlines, offers inspiration to experiment and explore your creativity. You’ll be encouraged to find your own voice and capture images that reflect your perspective.
