Understanding Outdoor Flash
Photography Workshop

 

 

Immersive Learning | Light, Control and Creativity

Light literally makes pictures, and being able to control an artificial light source can transform your photography. Flash, of course, is the go-to light source in every photographer’s bag, yet it is often underused. This one-day workshop will give you practical knowledge, confidence, and creative inspiration to use flash effectively outdoors. Set in the stunning Dunnet Bay area, you’ll enjoy varied subjects, expert guidance, and hands-on practice.

Itinerary Snapshot

10:00: Arrival at meet point, welcome tea/coffee, introductions

10:30: Walk to the lighthouse and slipway for demonstrations using flash in varying outdoor conditions; practical shooting time

12:30: Lunch break (please bring a packed lunch) and informal discussion of the morning session

13:30: Explore town and dunes for portraits, architectural, and moving subjects; full demonstration of outdoor flash techniques

15:30: Hot drink, round-up discussion, and learning notes summary

 

16:00: Depart

While we don’t yet have previous participants’ feedback, our guides have extensive experience teaching flash techniques in both workshops and tutorials, ensuring a supportive, engaging, and highly practical learning experience for everyone.
