Introducing Our Patreon: Go Deeper Into Photography With Us

If you’ve ever joined us on a workshop, visited the lodge, or followed along online, you’ll know that we love sharing photography—not just the finished images, but the process behind them.

Over the past few years, more and more of you have asked for something a bit more in-depth—something you can dip into from home, at your own pace, but that still feels personal and connected.

So… we’ve finally created it.

What is our Patreon?

Our Patreon is a space for those who want to go beyond the surface and really develop their photography.

It’s not about overwhelming you with content or complicated theory.

Instead, it’s about:

  • Slowing things down

  • Explaining how and why we approach a scene

  • Sharing the decisions behind the images

Think of it as joining us in the field—just from wherever you are.

What you’ll find inside

We’ll be sharing a mix of content throughout the year, including:

  • Behind the Shot

A deeper look at specific images—how they were taken, what worked, what didn’t, and what we’d do differently.

  • Editing Walkthroughs

Step-by-step looks at how we process our images, without overcomplicating things.

  • Seasonal Photography Guides

What to look for throughout the year here in the Highlands—from winter light to autumn colour and everything in between.

  • Live Sessions & Feedback

Opportunities to ask questions, get feedback, and be part of the conversation.

  • Field Notes & Real Experiences

The honest side of photography—the conditions, challenges, and unexpected moments.

We know not everyone can make it up to the far north of Scotland as often as they’d like.

Patreon is our way of bringing a bit of that experience to you.

Whether it’s watching the light change over the moor, working through a composition, or simply feeling connected to the landscape—this is for those who enjoy the journey as much as the final image.

How it fits alongside our workshops & holidays

This isn’t here to replace what we do in person—it complements it.

  • If you’ve joined us before, it’s a way to keep learning between visits

  • If you’re planning a trip, it helps you get more from your time here

  • If you can’t travel, it gives you access to the same thinking and approach

Why we’ve created this

Quite simply, because of you.

The questions you ask. The conversations we’ve had. The desire to understand why something works—not just how.

Patreon gives us the space to answer those questions properly, without squeezing everything into a quick post or short caption.

Come and join us

If you’d like to take your photography a little further—or just feel more connected to what we do here—you can find all the details below:

We’re really looking forward to building this into something valuable, useful, and genuinely enjoyable to be part of.

And as always, if there’s something you’d like to learn or see more of—just let us know.

See you out there (or online)

Whether it’s on a windswept hillside, in the tea room, or through a screen somewhere across the world—we hope this brings you a little closer to the experience of photographing the Highlands.
